The Contract Manager will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of contracts, from negotiation to closeout. This role requires a deep understanding of DoD contracting, including FAR, DFARS, and ITAR regulations. You will work closely with legal, finance, and business development teams to ensure that all contracts align with company goals, mitigate risks, and comply with federal requirements. The ideal candidate will be proactive in building relationships with clients and vendors while ensuring contract compliance.


Key Responsibilities


Contract Negotiation & Management:
  • Lead contract negotiations with government clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Draft, review, and revise contracts to ensure terms are favorable and compliant with federal and DoD regulations.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of contracts, including renewals, amendments, and closeouts.
Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks in contract terms and provide strategies to mitigate exposure.
  • Advise senior management on contractual risks and offer solutions to ensure protection.
  • Compliance & Legal Oversight:
    • Ensure all contracts comply with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and other relevant regulations.
    • Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
    • Serve as a liaison with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory requirements.
    • Relationship Management:
      • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, prime contractors, and subcontractors.
      • Collaborate with business development and finance teams to align contracts with company strategy.
      • Act as the main point of contact for contract-related inquiries and negotiations.
      • Contract Performance Monitoring:
        • Track contract deliverables, deadlines, and performance metrics to ensure all parties meet their obligations.
        • Provide regular updates and reports on contract status to senior leadership.
        • Process Improvement:
          • Identify andimplement improvements in the contract management process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
          • Lead internal contract audits and work with teams to address any areas of concern.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, law, or a related field (CPCM, CFCM, or DAWIA certifications preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in contract management, particularly within the DoD or defense sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and government contracting procedures.
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation, risk management, and compliance within the defense industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex contracts simultaneously.
  • Proficient in contract management software and government contracting platforms.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the cybersecurity or technology sectors.
  • Familiarity with cost-plus, fixed-price, and time and materials contract types.
  • Understanding of federal acquisition processes and working knowledge of GSA schedules.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

Full-time

SALARY:

$90,000 - $115,000 a year

SCHEDULE:
